Discord Sucks & How To Ban Evade

Shitcord is probably the worst platform out there. It's so fucking horrible I swear it makes me want to die sometimes. I've lost count, but I know I've been banned over a hundred times by now, and that makes NO fucking sense.

It's weaponized by decentralized "coms" for anything ranging from sextortion to swatting to yada yada. Did you know there was a massive leak of U.S. military documents on Discord? There's a whole Wikipedia page on this! The history section on Discord's Wikipedia page contains a lot about how ass Discord has been. Did I forget to mention the massive data breaches that Discord regularly suffers?

And yet, their biggest issues are me and my friends, or people I know, who are benign.

I really wish I could mention everything, but let's just mention how it even started. Did you know that before co-founding Discord, Jason Citron founded OpenFeint, which was a mobile gaming network? In 2011, it was hit with a massive federal class-action lawsuit accusing the company of computer fraud, invasion of privacy, and illegally harvesting and selling sensitive user data, such as EXACT GPS locations, BROWSING HISTORIES, and social profiles to ad networks WITHOUT consent.

And when early Discord users asked Citron on social media if Discord's business model would mirror OpenFeint's data-harvesting practices, the dude fucking blocked them instead of providing transparency. I really wish I could mention everything dogshit about the platform, but if you wanna learn more, this video covers a bit more than I do about this aspect of Discord. Anyways.

Nothing is encrypted or able to be encrypted besides voice calls, SUPPOSEDLY. Who knows if they're backdoored or not? So Discord sells ALL of your data, including all that you say or do, or whatever the fuck. Yet they can't catch anything significant, and everyone & anyone benign gets fucked?

Did you know the mods are a shit ton of furry pedophiles and whatever other sort of degenerates? This is straight out of Wikipedia:

Discord users subsequently criticized the moderation staff for selectively allowing "cub" content, or underage pornographic furry artwork, under the same guidelines. The staff held that "cub porn" was different from lolicon and shotacon and "allowable as long as it is tagged properly".

Yeah. Do I have to mention again how anyone else and I can get banned for anything?

Wanna know what I got banned for today? I don't fucking know??? Apparently, I got emailed about "Child safety," but I HAD NOT done ANYTHING that violated "CHild SaFeTy" TerMs oF sErVice BRAH. So God forbid they even tell you exactly what you did.

There is an entire subreddit called r/BannedFromDiscord with INSANE cases. I mean, borderline mind-blowing shit, like someone who said "torah" and got banned for "child safety"??? Another guy got banned for sending a fire emoji, and another guy got banned for saying "Ass or tits?". And another guy got banned for a "67 joke"?!! Someone said "ig bro" and got banned. I have a friend who sent someone a GIF, and THEY got banned, the very guy who the GIF was sent to... I can go on and on, but I mean, just browse the subreddit in your own time. You are not alone, and it gets crazier the more you scroll. Do you remember when I mentioned the Discord leaks, or sextortion coms, or the Discord mod who fucked his dog, which happened on the same platform? How does this even make sense?

Nobody should even be using this platform, but for some reason, we all do, and it's really sad. If you still have close friends on this garbage, and you just must use it out of convenience but keep getting banned, here is most of what you should know:

Remove Fingerprinting to Sign Up

Browsers

Just open an incognito tab and/or clear your cache and cookies to sign up if you wanna use Discord's website.

Also, use a hardened browser (probably a Firefox fork) for less telemetry,
such as LibreWolf, or if you're using Android, something like IronFox or Fennec.

It obviously won't work if you were to use the Tor Browser, though. Your activity would instantly get flagged as malicious.

Linux

I use Linux, and the best way to actually use Discord is via modded clients with Flatpak.

If you're reading this, then you're probably doing the same thing, I hope.

Vesktop is one of those that try to remove as much telemetry as possible by default, and when you sandbox it with Flatpak, clearing everything on your machine so you can ban evade becomes very straightforward.

If you already have Vesktop or some other client (I think there're better ones, such as Goofcord & Equibop), run this and replace APP_ID with the one you use:

(If you just installed one, skip this part and use it.)

flatpak uninstall --delete-data <APP_ID>
rm -rf ~/.var/app/<APP_ID>
rm -rf ~/.local/share/flatpak/app/<APP_ID>
sudo rm -rf /var/lib/flatpak/app/<APP_ID>

Then install your desired Discord client:

flatpak install flathub <APP_ID>

Windows

Since I don't use proprietary AI-slop operating systems,
I will cite from r/BannedFromDiscord's guide:

Delete all Discord files in %appdata% and %localappdata%. There are YouTube tutorials on how to completely remove Discord from your system.

But theoretically, I really don't think this is enough.
It can easily query your hardware identifiers, such as your motherboard UUID, storage drive serial numbers, MAC addresses, and registry keys, because it's not sandboxed like it is in Linux via Flatpak.

If you merely delete %appdata% and reinstall the desktop client, the very first time the fresh app starts up, it'd execute those same native hardware queries, matches your banned motherboard/HWID string in Discord's backend, and immediately flags or shadow-bans the new account.

It's just what Electron and Node.js can do on Windows without proper sandboxing. Though, it might not go that far, but it cooould. I suppose a way around it is to use a virtual machine or go for the hardened browser method. Or just don't use this dogshit OS.

macOS / iOS

Android

On Android devices, if you have the app and you wanna log in or make a new account on it, you first have to go to your Settings app, then to "Apps" (or adjacent), find your Discord client, go to "Storage", and clear everything by pressing the "Clear data" and "Clear cache" options.

And I would actually recommend using a client mod like Kettu.
It does come with a NoTrack plugin OOTB.

VPNs Alone Won't Work

Everyone who has ever gotten banned from Discord has definitely thought of using a VPN (unless they had dynamic IPs already and knew about it), but that's actually not the greatest idea. If you saw some other guides before this, like r/BannedFromDiscord's, they all likely mention using a VPN, but Discord maintains a list of known IP ranges belonging to commercial providers like NordVPN, Proton, or Mullvad.

Community-written guides like this are simply outdated and rely on strategies from a while ago, before Discord started using machine-learning telemetry to track client-side signatures. Also, you MUST wipe your physical fingerprints first, which, if you've been following, we already did.

In summary, say you wanna use something like Proton VPN. Great, but you haven't considered that it's an incredibly popular VPN with thousands of users, including "malicious" individuals. Probably A LOT of people have made or tried to make Discord accounts with that VPN, and the IP is probably blacklisted from making accounts & would get flagged, and they'd ask you to give them a...

Phone Number

...which you should NEVER do UNLESS you have a real, genuine phone number at hand and are willing to risk it. Discord would very likely just use the phone number to blacklist you and ban the account anyway. Dickheads. Also, it doesn't matter if it's some VoIP eSIM, they can detect that. So, again, if you REALLY have to use a phone number, and there is nothing else you can do, and you need that account more than anything, try a real phone number from whoever. I ended up triggering some sort of auto-detection for suspicious activity by adding two people twice in a row without a moment to cooldown, and it prompted me for a phone number. I gave them a real one, and very unexpectedly, it worked. That happened after I had already been using the account for a day or two, by the way.

But if you don't have friends or want to remain a little more anonymous, remember I said VoIP eSIMs are the ones that get detected, right? So if you rent a non-VoIP number, you actually should be fine. One of my friends uses SMSPool.net for this, and apparently, it works. These services only cost a few cents per number.

If you do decide to use these non-VoIP services, and not one you own, theoretically it doesn't really matter if it's from a different country, because people travel bruh. What matters is that it's from a clean pool.

What Else Can You Do?

Use mobile data.

Disconnect from your home Wi-Fi and use 4G/5G mobile cellular data. Cellular carriers cycle through thousands of dynamic IP addresses every hour, and Discord cannot IP-ban them without blocking millions of legitimate users. This is MUCH better than a VPN.

You can also... ask a friend to make an account? Preferably someone who doesn't use Discord, or someone who has no history of getting banned. This should work best or on par with mobile data.

Or go outside (insert a corny punchline here) and try public Wi-Fi.

If you simply have a dynamic IP, then you're in luck. You probably already know how to reset your IP, so just do that.

If none of these options are available to you, then waiting a moment and just using the same IP has a chance of working too, but it's slimmer and you must have been banned for something lighter.

Emails

Do you wanna reuse your emails? Uhh...

Can you technically reuse your emails? Uhm...

This goes for Gmail users. If your old email was username@gmail.com, Discord theoretically views username+discord@gmail.com as a new unrelated email address because Google completely ignores plus signs (+) and everything after it. This means any verification emails Discord sends will still drop directly into your original inbox.

There's another Gmail only trick called the "dot trick": Google completely ignores periods in email addresses, so u.s.e.r.n.a.m.e@gmail.com is exactly the same as username@gmail.com. And treated as a completely distinct account string.

However, as people on r/BannedFromDiscord have given mixed experiences on this, relying on it for ban evasion is a ticking time bomb because it's an incredibly easy loophole for Discord to tighten at any moment. It's called normalizing a vulnerability.

It is incredibly basic backend logic to normalize an email string before checking it against a database. This example in Python can strip periods and truncate everything past a + sign for incoming Gmail addresses:

I don't believe Discord is this braindead, so I wouldn't rely on reusing emails. Instead:

Make new emails with services like Tuta or Proton Mail. But if you wanna go deeper into better stuff, there's Atomic Mail (which I use), which offers 10 free aliases as of now. When you use an alias for your email, Discord's database has no way of knowing that it forwards to the same inbox.

If you like what you just heard about email aliases, there's more you can use.
There's SimpleLogin (by Proton), there's also Addy.io, and both of them offer 10 free email aliases and are open source.

But hey, if you know about cock.li and thought of using it, that's a horrible idea. You'd instantly get flagged. Their domains are simply blacklisted because of dudes like you. The same goes for adjacent services like pissmail.com, which is currently shut down because the owner got raided lol.

What about Temporary Mails?

If you're lazy and thinking about using trash temp mail services like temp-mail.org, mail.tm, or guerrillamail.com, don't waste your time. Discord uses aggressive disposable email address detection. Public domains these services host are scraped and blacklisted in real-time.

Trying to sign up with a temp email will either hit you with an instant registration error, or immediately freeze the account behind the phone verification wall the millisecond you log in. Stick to aliases or something.

Once You've Made It

If you've made it, and you've successfully created an account that hasn't been banned or locked behind that phone verification screen, stop. Start being paranoid.

Just because you made the account and it hasn't been banned in the first five seconds, that doesn't mean you're clear to do whatever you want with it. Your account has something you should think of as an invisible "trust factor." For example, if you make an account, attach no phone number, and immediately start adding people and joining servers, you'll either get banned or be forced to verify with a phone number, which is a gamble. This is how I lost my previous account.

What you need to do instead is lay low. You will potentially face a lot of CAPTCHAs, and if you do, don't trigger them so often. Always wait a few minutes, or at least ten minutes if your account is fresh, before doing these CAPTCHA-triggering activities again. One of these CAPTCHA-triggering events is DMing people first. Wait for them to DM you first if possible. Adding friends triggers CAPTCHAs or higher suspicion too, so if possible, let them add you first. And if you want your account to have a high-trust score right away, attach a phone number to it. Either use the non-VoIP method or use a real number from your connection's country. It will instantly give a higher trust score to your account, so you'll have less to worry about. If you do this right after making the account, it will definitely lower your chances of getting banned.

Don't Lose Your Friends

You probably have friends on Discord that you don't have contact with anywhere else, or some important servers.

Please back them up somehow.
